The walls of the dikes shall be made of earth
and shall be designed to be liquid-tight and to
withstand a lateral pressure of the full liquid level
Dike walls shall have a flat section at the top not less
than 600 mm (2ft) wide. The slope of the earthen
wall shall be less than the angle of repose of the fill
material, and the wall itself shall be covered with
grass,
sprayed asphalt or sand-bitumen
after
compaction of the slope
