The utilities applicable in this practice
are steam, cooling water, instrument air, nitrogen, fuel oil and gas and raw
water (service water. At the earliest stage or the project execution, these
conditions shall be verified by the utility facilities process engineers, if it is
not feasible.
In order to determine or verity the utility conditions, the
following shall be considered. Usually three levels of steam is used in the
refinery, petro-chemical complex and similar plants. However, the steam
level will vary from one to four depending on the plant capacity or plant
